Launch Your Band Entries Now Open
Calling all unsigned aspiring musicians- Perisher's annual Launch Your Band Competition is ready to hear you. It's a totally free opportunity to showcase your talent, and win yourself a heap of prizes and exposure in the process. The competition is open to bands, electronic groups, solo artists - basically anybody looking to plug their musical wares. Perisher has spared no expense in what they'll be awarding the victor, beginning with featuring the winning song as the soundtrack to their 2009 Perisher Freeride TV commercials over the snow season. Other prizes include a performance slot at the Perisher Spring Carnival, a Perisher snow holiday, PlayStation 3 SingStar packs, Nikon digital cameras and Lonsdale clothing packs.
If you're in any doubt that a win translates to success look no further than Burn The Drama, who not only received a heap of swag for their track Live In The Moment, but will also shortly be releasing their new album The Anger and the Ego. Beat that with a stick.
If you're interested - and let's be honest, why wouldn't you be - entries can be submitted via launchyourband.com.au, where an online jukebox will feature all the Launch Your Band submissions, and you'll find a full rundown of the terms and conditions. If you're not, shall we say, musically gifted, there are still plenty of prize winning opportunities, so get yourself over there. Entries close on Tuesday 31 March, and will be judged on originality, composition and their relevance to Perisher's freeride style. The winner will then be announced on Friday 11 April.
