Following in the footsteps of artists such Deadmau5 and Fedde le Grande, Simon Patterson's latest single has managed to secure the #1 spot across all major download store charts, after causing a whirlwind of interest with many of the trance scenes biggest heavyweights.

In less than two years Simon has progressed through the fields of rising talent to rank alongside some of trance music's biggest producers. From Armin van Buuren in Canada to Tiësto in Mexico to Sander van Doorn at Trance Energy, no peak time set this year has been complete without Simon Patterson's latest studio offering 'Smack'.

With four consecutive weeks on Britain's Radio 1, including Judge Jules's April Essential Mix, 'Smack' was unleashed for public sale on April 21th and in its first week of release went on to dominate the #1 slot across all four major download charts - Beatport, Audiojelly, Trackitdown and DJ Download.

Regarded by Ferry Corsten as a 'talented producer with a great sense for what the crowd wants', Simon has emerged as one of dance music's most promising talents in the past 12 months.

After a string of successful dates in Brazil, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland and Thailand, Simon recently returned from a triumphant three week tour of Australia which took in clubs such as Family in Brisbane and Metropolis in Sydney and left Inthemix labelling him as one of the 'young guns rapidly launching themselves ahead within the djing and production scene'.
On the strength of this early success with 'Smack', Simon's profile looks set to become a lot more recognisable as the 'nu-school trance explosion' takes another giant leap forward.
