Sydney luminary PhDJ (Boundary Sounds/Purple Sneakers) has teamed up with Black Anthony to form production super-alliance Dept, a dynamic indie duo with a sound he describes as “similar to DFA” and “heavy on the cow bell”. Bring it on, we say, you can never have too much cow bell. Or hand claps. With remixes for Walter Meego, The Holidays and The Jezabels coming up, PhDJ is taking some time off from his day job of running Sydney (basically) to tour Europe, Ibiza, New York and Japan.
