Ellen Allien - Boogy Bytes 4

(Almost) queen of techno Ellen Allien ventures back into the world of mix compilations and presents volume four of the Boogy Bytes series.

Following on from her Fabric mix and her stablemates before her, Alien's mix is firmly planted in the club, mingling glitch with pop vocals and 'elements of the experimental underground with twitches of electro and deep techno basslines'.

Sound like a mouthful- Well, it probably should...even we're still figuring out what that exactly means.

Anyhoo, Allien mixes up her favourite tracks from Ricardo Villalobos, Melchior Productions and Gaiser, while also throwing in some new productions from young kids Melon and Lucio Aquilina.

In between more kooky selections, such as a spoken word intro from Berlin spoken poet AGF and the ballad 'Twice' from Swedish indie-pop quartet Little Dragon, Allien ensures the mix is a massively diverse outing for the Boogy series.
