Wrong Meeting For Two Lone Swordsmen

Two Lone Swordsmen are back in business with a new album.

Following on from the massive 'From The Double Gone Chapel' album, the duo have a new record due out in April.

Andrew Weatherall (of Primal Scream and My Bloody Valentine fame) feels that the record is an "extension of the last one...it's still got that wonky charm we do so well, but it's a bit more structured".

Weatherall's fondness for good old fashioned rock 'n' roll is celebrated with this release. Elements of garage and rockabilly get stirred with the more familiar layer of electronica this album promises, delivering new direction for fans.

Now fully immersed as a live band with cohort Keith Tenniswood on guitar, what's particularly striking about 'Wrong Meeting' is Weatherall's growth in stature as not only a singer and front man but also as a sharp wordsmith of note.

Weatherall argues that rock 'n' roll is a lot more futuristic in its way than most electronic music at the moment.

"Go to the past, but look to the future, don't get bogged down in the present. It's about distilling the essence, be it from the '50s or the present day."

'Wrong Meeting' wears its influences on its sleeve while sounding utterly contemporary. From the brooding roll thump of Rattlesnake Daddy and growling menace of Puritan Fist to the high-octane, rockabilly skank of Evangeline and the mesmerising, barbed and beautiful Get Out Of My Kingdom, 'Wrong Meeting' is a wonderful story of interwoven characters, misfits and outcasts at the world's end.
