After last year’s temperature-raising extravaganza, the fourth We Love Sounds Winter Festival returns on Sunday 10 June (Queens Birthday long weekend) looking even better. Taking in five unique arenas, including The Hordern Pavilion, Royal Hall Of Industries, The Forum and surrounds, it’s a 12-hour free-for-all, opening at midday and wrapping up at midnight. The expansive RHI, a regular fixture at the Mardi Gras after-parties, is a new addition to We Love. Now it’s time to let the rumour mill rest, with the roll call of international artists officially announced. From the top: DJ Shadow (live), Tiga, Nic Fanciulli & James Zabiela (one + one set), The Infadels (live), Massive Attack’s Daddy G, Ben Watt, Kool Keith/Dr Octagon (live), Alex Braxe & Kris Menace, D Ramirez, Hernan Cattaneo, Sharam Jey, Audiofly, Spirit Catcher, Headman, Surkin, Spencer Parker, Riton and Zoo Brazil. Now, re-piece your brain for the local line-up of live acts: Paul Mac, Infusion, Deepchild, Van She, Midnight Juggernauts, Tzu, PoxyMusic, Dance With Voices and The Heat. If that ain’t enough, the local DJ contingent includes Bang Gang (who again host their own tent), Riot In Belgium, Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock, Goodwill, Ajax, K.I.M., Ben Morris, James Taylor, Robbie Lowe, Minimal Fuss DJs and Noodles & Noel Boogie. First release tickets go on sale Tuesday 10 April from Ticketek and inthemix. We Love Sounds is also touring nationally, hitting Melbourne on Friday 8 June. See sounds.net.au for updates.
