Yes...it's back...again.

Well, it's not back here in Melbourne, but it's back!

It makes sense to us here at TranZfusion.

Anyhoo, the Academy first opened its doors in Berlin in 1998 and brought DJs and producers from around the world together to exchange experiences and ideas. As you can imagine, the conversations would have been a bit super.

It's now in its tenth year and the Academy has been held just about everywhere that's cool (which is why Melbourne had one last year). The conference is held in two fortnightly terms, with 60 music lovers flown in from around the world to, according to 'RBMA', "share, learn and have an absolute ball, all the while exploring and absorbing influence from the host city and its musical scenes".

Past RBMA mentors have included the likes of Jeff Mills, Tom Middleton, Derrick Carter, Mad Professor and a trillion more names you already know. They only bring in the best, which is why it's such a sought-after attendance on any music enthusiast's calendar.

For some reason, RBMA doesn't like to share the mentor names of the upcoming event, but our inside sources assure us there won't be any presence of rock-electro muso's who think "crossover" is the way to go forward. What you can bank your money on is the fact that attendees will be left in the dark right up until the start of the conference, as RBMA wants to ensure people are there for the right reasons and not to meet their idols.

RBMA states that the "unique experience...will last a life-time" and that the "Academy has been set up first and foremost to provide attendees with an opportunity to broaden their musical horizons, gain knowledge into the industry and create invaluable networks with fellow artists across the globe"

Their philosophy is something the RBMA lives by, providing "the best of music, past & present, from around the world, under one roof, getting down just for the funk of it".

"The Academy isn't a place to become an Idol-style overnight superstar and it's not a guaranteed career-maker either. Ultimately, it's up to you to navigate your own path, but the Red Bull Music Academy could give you a major nudge forward."
