The first time one hears the infectious, sexy and uber cool track, Stuck, a common first reaction is to think that Peven Everett has appeared out of nowhere to take over the dance music world.

In actual fact, while remaining largely undiscovered, Peven Everett is every bit a celebrated jazz and soul artist. He is already widely recognised on the international soul, urban and house scenes where he performs regularly. He is professionally trained to play 11 different musical instruments, including the guitar, trumpet and his favorite expressive instrument - the piano.

'Power Soul' is Peven's third album that follows in the footsteps of his 2002 debut 'Studio Confession' and his second album 'Easy Livin'(2006). 'Power Soul' is being released on the respected London label Soul Heaven. Known for featuring the more soulful side of house, the Soul Heaven label has built a solid reputation through its compilations with MAW, Blaze and Kerri Chandler among others, not to mention the numerous quality single releases.

That 'Power Soul' is the first artist album on the label is testament to their confidence in Everett and before long it will undoubtedly pay off as it is only a matter of time until he becomes more widely recognised as one of the rising stars in the scene.

Combining a number of genres, the album as a whole can perhaps best be described as showcasing his own unique brand of modern soul.

Everett summarised it perfectly in an interview featured last year in the Chicago Sun-Times with the following quote:
"Either you understand that you can be a part of one particular genre or one particular sound, or you understand that you can speak from wherever you are...Musically, I want to make my R&B, my soul, my jazz, my classical, I want to make them all as important as each other. I don't want to push any of them aside because I feel they all help me in growing each particular genre. It's not how much I practice jazz, not how much I practice soul. It's how much I practice."

Peven Everett's latest album 'Power Soul' is out now on Soul Heaven/Defected
