Mr C Clocks 20 years

What were you doing twenty years ago- Chances were it didn't involve Technics 1210's, stacks of vinyl, fronting a controversial band and producing acid house- Unless your name is Mr C, that is.

Mr C started off life as Chelsea Boy the aspiring rapper by night and milkman by day - the raver's job of choice due its unconventional working hours. Soon ditching his Chelsea Boy moniker and opting for the much easier to rhyme Mr C, he released his first record in 1987 under the name Myster-E, and began DJing at acid house parties around London, including the infamous Clink St parties near London Bridge.

The rest - as they say - is history. After hooking up with The Shamen - who started off as a Scottish psychedelic act but got sidetracked when acid house came along - 'Ebeneezer Goode' shot him to notoriety. The Shamen disbanded in 1998, but in the meantime Mr C set up Plink Plonk Recordings, ran legendary illegal parties, and set up The End with Layo. Anything else- Well - he then pioneered the tech house scene of the early 90's, launched Superfreq at The End, plus the label of the same name, and still managed to fit in a hell of a lot of partying along the way. Starting to wish you'd been a milkman- Yeah, me too.

Twenty years on and Mr C kicks the arse our of The End's lounge on Sundays at Superfreq, which is also at DC10 in Ibiza this summer, but on Saturday 30th June he'll be back in The End's main room- expect nothing less than his trademark dark sleazy electro tech house.

We couldn't make him play all night though - he has got some celebrating to do after all, so to keep him company we've got one of the most highly regarded DJ's of the current techno scene - Luciano. Anyone who has heard the Swiss / Chilean DJ and producer behind the decks knows that his reputation is not unfounded - weaving together house rhythms with minimal techno, powerful melodies and earth shattering basslines - he drops you down and picks you up again and again, until the crowd are about to explode . The energy in a Luciano set is infectious, so don't miss the chance to catch him playing in The End's main room.

If that wasn't enough, we've got founding member of Get Physical records, DJ T, on the decks. The German label has doubtless been one of the most influential of the last few years - breathing fresh life into the international house & techno scene. His debut album Boogie Playground bounced onto the scene bursting with quirky basslines, infectious hooks and a very distinctive sound. DJ T and Get Physical lead where many other try to follow - but no one does it quite as well. Fighting C and T for space in the main room are rising stars of the underground and recent DJ Mag cover stars Dollz at Play, whilst Cle from Pokerflat Recordings, Luke vB, Vera and Stick host the lounge. Up in AKA we take a trip back a few good few years, as Evil Eddie Richards, Femi B and Richard Grey take it back to the old school…
