Future Music Festival organisers still feel "shocked and saddened" by the violence that transpired at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday, in which two men were assaulted by another.

In a statement released yesterday by Future Entertainment, their main concern is for the welfare of the young men injured amidst 12,000 people attending the event.

While the incident marred the integrity of a festival not renowned for violent outbursts, Future wants to reinforce that the incident goes against their plans to keep the event as safe as possible.

With a Code of Practice in place for running safe dance parties (since adopted by Victorian Department of Human Services), Future Entertainment hold their patrons' wellbeing paramount to the management of a successful event.

Future is still working with public sectors to ascertain details of the altercation.
