Bass Kleph has started a new record label based in Sydney called Vacation Records. The beta version of the website is now up and running. Amongst other things it also features an online store where you can buy MP3's and samples of their music.

Assisting Stuart Tyson (aka Bass Kleph) with original material for the label include such artists as fRew, and the Shopliftas. There are also remixes in the works from Hook n Sling, Dopamine, Mako, and all of the above.

Vacation Records will be throwing a launch party at Break Inn @ Chinese Laundry in Sydney on the 2nd of February

Their reason for starting the label:

"The system needs a shake up. On average, record labels have been doing the dodgy the world over since the first record was cut. As an artist, Stu has experienced this first hand many times. This and many other experiences have led to the decision to build Vacation Records from the ground up, as an Artist friendly label. Vacation doesn't follow the normal label rules, in a stark contrast, it runs on good old common sense.

....We're not too comfortable with slapping a generic genre tag on the sound of the label, but if you said that Vacation Records was currently focused on blurring the lines between Dirty Tech House, Electro Breaks, and Minimal Techno, you'd be pretty close. The interesting thing is just how our artists blend them. It's a savvy, cool, sexy sound, that everyone can relate to. It's that Vacation sound."

So there you have it folks. Looks like it's time to celebrate the latest national holiday: Vacation Records
