Direct Silverchair's video clip

‘User-generated content’ is the buzzword of ‘07, and Silverchair are harnessing that fan power for the imminent release of their fifth studio album Young Modern (out 31 March). They’ve premiered the album’s first single and film clip, Straight Lines, on their MySpace site and are giving fans the opportunity to download footage of the band performing and use it to cut and paste together their own ultimate version of the film clip. Fans can then submit their video online, where a top five will selected by MySpace users and a final winner chosen by the band, which will then be screened on Video Hits. The winner will also get to meet Silverchair to collect a gold album plaque and a copy of Young Modern. Voting closes on March 14, so hit myspace.com/silverchairvideocomp with haste.
