Australia to Experience Another Top Class Music Festival as 'V Festival' Spreads its Wings
After building an enviable reputation over the last 11 years as the best of the UK music festivals, V Festival has this year spread its wings internationally, launching in Canada and the USA in September. Now V will be staged for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere in March 2007. Virgin chairman, Richard Branson, told Reuters that as well as Australia, they are looking to spread the festival to Italy, Spain and South America.
Two one-day festivals will take place in Sydney (Centennial Park on 31 March) and the Gold Coast (Avica Resort on 1 April) with both days expected to attract tens of thousands of music fans.
The first bands announced in the lineup for V festival bringing together a rich variety of influential groups, many of whom have never toured these shores before, as well as a host of new up and coming Australian bands.
Dance fans have something to look forward to with Soulwax/2Many DJs, Gnarls Barkley and Groove Armada early confirmations.
Groove Armada and 2 Many DJs headlined the dance tents at the respective V Festivals in the UK and US earlier this year. Soulwax, the extended dance rock collective unit of 2 Many DJs will play as well as
