eBay wins Big Day Out legal stoush

The Big Day Out organisers are describing as “a win to the legal system over common sense logic” the court decision in favour of eBay over ticket scalping. Justice Steven Rares said the decision was “unfortunate” but that Creative, the organisers of the BDO, “did not have reasonable grounds” to cancel every ticket on-sold for profit. Big Day Out director Ken West sent out a press release to “sincerely apologise that we have let our supporters down”, and has vowed to continue the fight next year.
