While Universal Music threaten to sue Internet video portal YouTube for alleged ‘copyright infringements’, Warner Music have joined the 21st Century and become the first media company to sign a deal with YouTube, allowing the site to host music videos from Warner’s extensive artist roster in exchange for a share of advertising revenue generated by Warner videos. YouTube users will also be able to use Warner licensed music in their amateur clips. Also on the ball is Sony BMG, reportedly in negotiations with YouTube.
