NEXT month, DJ Promo will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest DJ (club)session in history. DJ Promo aims to complete a marathon set of 100 hours' continuous mixing which will smash the current record by 16 hours. However to do this, he needs your help!

Booty-Shakers
In order to comply with the Guinness World Record rules and regulations, he need a dancing audience at all times - even if it's just one person. Don't panic, though - you won't have to dance for 100 hours, as the rules state that the longest anyone is allowed on the dance floor is four hours at a time. Even if you can only make it down for an hour, especially during off-peak times, you'd be playing a vital role in making this record attempt possible.

Other Roles
In addition to the aforementioned Movers & Groovers, the team also need volunteers to fill the following roles

Stewards: to maintain log books and make sure DJ Promo has a constant water supply

Witnesses: to confirm the details entered into the log books

Cash collectors: to operate cash donation collection tins at the venue

Promoters: to help spread the word before and during the event

Anyone kind enough to give up their time to help make this event a reality will be given full VIP passes for the duration of the event and the various after parties and victory parties, as well as a certificate of thanks signed by DJ Promo and the event's beneficiaries.

So please help to spread the word as far and as wide as possible! It doesn't matter whether you have two hot feet, two left feet or even no feet at all, get involved! Aside from it being fun, you'll get treated like royalty and you might even get your 15 minutes of fame!

Drop Laura an email at info@mattpromo.com to confirm you're Up For It. Let her know which role you'd like to fill and roughly when you'd be available to fill it, and she will keep you updated as the project progresses.

Background Info:
NEXT month, DJ Promo - a prolific British-born DJ whose career has seen him behind the decks at London's Ministry of Sound, plus a host of international venues - will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest DJ (club) session marathon in history. The record currently stands at 84 hours and was set in February 2005 by Genix (UK). Although DJ Promo would need to beat the existing record only by a matter of minutes to take the title, his aim is to complete a marathon set of 100 hours' continuous mixing.

Two things set this attempt aside from its predecessors: first, DJ Promo has insisted on being drugs tested during the attempt to prove that no illegal substances have been used; and second, it's being staged in an effort to raise vital funds for two Australian charities. The beneficiaries are Challenge, which supports children suffering from cancer and life-threatening blood disorders; and The Big Issue, which enables homeless people to take steps towards getting off the street.

The attempt will be staged in a purpose-built, pyramid-shaped nightclub in Federation Square - one of Melbourne's most prominent public spaces - between 9am Monday June 12th and 1pm Friday June 16th, and will be open to the public throughout.
