Grand Prix launches
'traction'
…a hot new party space for 2006

The FORMULA 1™ Foster's Australian Grand Prix is set to win a whole new legion of fans with the launch of traction - an exclusive party zone aimed at 25 - 35 year olds who have their finger firmly on the pulse.

traction offers the chance to experience the Australian Grand Prix in a totally unique way by giving race-goers a massive party under the palms at Albert Park in a hot new race space.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Tim Bamford, says that tickets are set to move fast as Melbourne's in-crowd clamour to be among the first to feel the glamour and thrills of Formula One with Australia's finest DJs and hottest live bands providing the soundtrack.

"If you've never been to the Grand Prix, this is your opportunity to feel the heart-pounding adrenalin-rush of 300 km/h Formula One vehicles while partying in your own private area with like-minded people," said Mr Bamford.

"Expect to see Australia's hottest emerging personalities mingling with Melbourne's social set in what is gearing up to be the party of 2006."

A hand-picked selection of the country's coolest young bands, together with the crop of Australia's most revered DJs, including Ministry of Sound's John Course, will serve up a treat for Grand Prix revellers.

For those that need a break from the bump 'n grind, a lavish lounge space will provide a chilled out ambience at just the right tempo.

A host of interactive areas and hands-on experiences will ensure that there is never a dull moment at traction.

And of course there's the on-track action. traction will feature its very own viewing area to enable party-goers to get up close and personal with the world's fastest four-wheeled vehicles.

"Traction is located at turn four - one of the most exhilarating corners on the track," said Mr Bamford. "We're also providing a massive superscreen with exclusive 'GPTV' commentary to ensure that no one misses a second of the action."

All beer, wine, bubbly and soft drinks are included in the ticket price, with two bar areas operated by Melbourne's friendliest (and cutest!) bar staff.

A tempting variety of finger food and hot suggestions will also be served throughout the day.

If eight hours of non-stop partying is just not enough, free coach transfers will ferry patrons to the exclusive traction after-party, just a short drive from the circuit.

Numbers will be limited with entry to traction set to be the hottest ticket in town.
