Tosca touches down in Oz

Once a side project for Richard Dorfmeister of Kruder & Dorfmeister, Tosca is now a major player in the world of down tempo beats. In 1994, Dorfmeister paired up with onetime schoolmate Rupert Huber to craft jazz-tinged, syncopated lounge music. With Huper’s classically trained yin to his partner’s beat-driven yang, the result is nuanced, kaleidoscopic compositions for the morning after. In May, Australian audiences will be treated to the five-piece Tosca live show. With Dorfmeister on turntables and Huber on piano, the other players are former frontman of acid-jazz collective Galliano MC Earl Zinger, vocalist Ras MC T-Weed and VJ Fritz Fitze on visuals. The troupe takes to the stage at The Enmore Theatre, Sydney, on Saturday 27 May (tickets from Ticketek and venue box office) and The Palace, Melbourne, on Sunday 28 (tickets from Ticketmaster and the venue).
