The Hacker is considered as being one of the best French representatives of the pure and electro Techno sound. The Hacker aka Michel Amato, began at the tender age of 17, in a Electro/Indus band and continues in his music escapades to be influenced by Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Depeche Mode, New Order and Joy
Division. This particular project, A.N.D.N.O.W… is especially brilliant as it showcases his uncanny ability to compose a mixture of some of the most brilliant productions within the Techno genre and is only his second foray into the mix compilation standard. The Hacker continues to maintain an even keel as both the expert DJ and accomplished producer.

While notorious for his accomplishments within the Techno genre, The Hacker has built a longstanding history on maintaining an even pace with what he loves rather than what the current moment's taste of the day. This compilation offers us an eclectic musical sampler, with a mix of both new and old gems, from Miss Yeti, Ellen Allien, Perspects, Kiko and Mount Sims, a little minimalist step with the German Sleep Archive, and more tracks that play a
history of techno rhythms. There is some avant-garde electro with Liaisons Dangereuses (1981), some EBM with the Belgian Front 242, a touch of early Detroit Techno with the mythical "Techno Music" by Model 500 that would go on to give its name to the genre,
and even a nod to the 90's rave scene with GTO.

The mixes are all performed on the decks and recorded pure, without using a computer,
asserting once and for all, what is the artistic performance that is DJing. This collection
is a perfect sample of the Hacker's current sets.
