Stuart McKeown & Darius Bassiray's Leaving Melbourne has taken out Proton Radio's 4th Remix contest.

Pitted against over 200 international entry's the boys brought home the goods with a remix that captures both the two prominent, but very different, themes to the backstory of Okoboji: horrendous bloodshed and breathtaking beauty.

While a majority of contestant's remixes can be filed under the latter, Stuart McKeown (UK) and Darius Bassiray (AU) deliver a visceral remix that is perhaps the only one to successfully capture both sides of the story-- and they manage to do so in the intro alone. Haunted wails and distorted synths intertwine seamlessly through-out in a breathtaking display of force, sound design and sample modification.

Stuart & Darius are relatively new artists to the scene. Both had releases out on the now defunct EDMDigital, while Stuart has a new release just out on L2 Music called 'Chemical Thrust'.

Proton Music will make sure that you'll be hearing plenty more from these two in the weeks ahead-- but until then, read an interview with the winning duo by clicking the link below
