Skate comp launches new park in Waterloo

A brand new 920-metre skate park, modelled on streetscapes like Martin Place and Cathedral Square, is set to open in Waterloo with a skate competition on Saturday 1 July. Dubbed ‘Fernside’ and located next to Waterloo Oval, the skate park features a large plaza area with benches, ramp and a half pipe. With registration starting at 8-30am, the skate comp has $6000 in prizes up for grabs in three divisions –U12, U16 and Open – plus a DJ, free BBQ and drinks.
