The Balance series from Australia has a uniquely keen ear for spotting burgeoning talent worldwide and cherry picking them for DJ greatness. The next great chapter is presented here by Paolo Mojo on 'BALANCE 009'.

As an artist, Paolo Mojo instinctively understands that the scene has come full circle and that diverse and creative DJing has become the watchword again, with crowds no longer willing to settle for hours of restricted, pigeonholed, boring music. He's quick to play down such talk; but the fact is, he's one of a select group of new breed DJs who have thrown the rule book out of the window and is known to select what Paolo says are, "the best bits from a wide range of sounds… in sa way that just makes sense to people on the dancefloor."

'BALANCE 009' is an energetic composition of genre defying blend of styles that siphon the best elements of house, funk, techno, breaks, electro, disco and acid into a funk-inflected 2xCD mix. The album is replete with booty-shaking house, melodic techno, and genuine classics that turns traditional mix CD's on their head. The album features tracks and remixes from Michael Mayer, Sebastian Tellier, Underground Resistance, Robert Owens, Funk D'Void, Der Dritte Raum, Nic Fanciulli, Nathan Fake, Petter, Deee-Lite and more.

Paolo Mojo is now esteemed as one of the brightest young stars on the world DJ circuit. Picked by BBC Radio 1, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ as one of the hottest young stars of the global house scene, Paolo Mojo embodies the definition of a versatile DJ. His genuine and innovative programming combined with stark clean technical ability has pushed his move smoothly through the ranks of electronica. Rave reviews have followed him around everywhere he goes, leading to him being signed up to compile the latest instalment of the now recognised de facto standard for emerging world class DJs 'Balance': EQ's award winning mix series which features other DJs such as James Holden, Desyn Masiello and Chris Fortier.

Paolo Mojo Bio
Paolo's first big break came in 2001 when his now infamous 'Music is Freedom' double mix CD demo landed him the Bedroom Bedlam competition in Muzik Magazine that also launched the careers of James Zabiela and Yousef. The momentum Paolo garnered from this work catapulted him into the world of gigging with early support from John Digweed, Danny Howells and Sasha. Paolo's DJ career grew to fulfill his lifelong obsession with music, from gigs in London's Bedrock parties and famous Fabric club with its underground music sensibilities to Zouk in Singapore and Arc in New York. His DJing style embraces all the variations on house music from funky, vocal tracks to deep and progressive to the techier shades of house.

In 2005, he was handpicked by Sasha's Excession booking agency and has toured North America and Europe with Sasha's Fundacion world tour. Paolo has recently spent time preparing his new digital label - Oosh where each release will showcase a new track of his, coupled with a re-interpretation of the same track from an artist he respects. The first release Everybody, with a Cass and Mangan remix is set to be launched in the spring of 2006.

With a world tour scheduled this year, Paolo will be heading to Japan and Australia for the first time to promote Balance 009, rounding out his artistic triumph across the globe. Now in 2006, Balance has finally found their Mojo.
