Yet NRK is here as Stomp Entertainment welcomes NRK Records to its roster of the worlds best dance labels.
Hailing from Bristol, NRK Records was conceived in 1996. Born out of one of the UK's pioneering DJ Agencies, it quickly gained momentum in its first year with killer-cuts from Ian Pooley, Plastic Avengers, Dimitri From Paris, Lenny Fontana and Freeform Five amongst others.
Over the years NRK have also released quality mix CDs from a plethora of underground names such as Danny Krivit, Joey Negro, Joe Claussell, Miguel Migs, Nick Holder, Chicken Lips, Ian Pooley, Pete Heller and many more.
In 2006, look out for forthcoming mix cds by New Yorks Joe Clausell, Detroits Dj Rolando (Underground Resistance), as well as the launch of a brand new mix cd series Coast 2 Coast in September !!
New York experimentalist and deep electronics exponent, Joe Claussell, presents a new mix compilation titled Translate that quite simply turns the genre on its head! Claussell pushes the boundaries on the CD, fusing timeless electronic dance with cinematic passages and sound scape pathways. Listening to the blend is unlike any other mix CD you will have listened to; imagine a marriage of the weirdest David Lynch film crossed with Kraftwerk tinkering with the deepest house music whilst reading the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, and you are only a fraction of the way there! Features cuts from Jeff Mills, Carl Craig , Marshall Jefferson, Soul Dharma, Ame , Alton Miller & Vince Watson .
Dj Rolando follows up 2003 s Nitelife mix with a brand new selection across 2cds titled From There to Here and Now. From the man who rocked the world with 'Knights of the Jaguar' comes an inspired and spirited house and techno mix providing an insight and taster into the almost divine atmosphere of his club sets for which he is internationally acclaimed.
Whilst cd1 takes us on a journey through his more recognised work in house & techno across tracks from Theo Parrish ,Nick Holder, Ame, Trackheadz, Hipp-E, Kerry Chandler & a new unreleased track from Rolando himself . CD2 finds Roland Rocha in a more reflective mood as dub, funk & more atmospheric tracks provide a more downtempo afterhours listening vibe.
Coast 2 Coast sets out to promote the finest DJ and production talent from around the world in a tastefully branded and acutely promoted series. NRK feel the time is musically right to launch a brand new series that focuses on the music and the selector. Coast 2 Coast will showcase quality independent music from djs like Dj Gregory & Joey Negro in a package that oozes quality and gives the punter maximum value for money and aural pleasure!
