"I look at my job as a modern day traveling minstrel, to bring new music to as many places as I can, and expose obscure records that, otherwise, might go hidden." Mark Farina

New York - Ministry Of Sound proudly presents Sessions - Mark Farina's first ever mix album for the pioneering UK label. Mark Farina is yet another renowned figure of inspiration for the acclaimed Sessions series which has seen releases from Josh Wink, Steve Angello and DJ Sneak earlier this year. One of America's most revered DJs, Mark has pulled all the stops out for this one with nearly 40 tracks of absolute jackin' house madness!

Mark Farina has been a figurehead of the US house scene for over 15 years, first cutting his teeth in the now legendary Chicago/Detroit scene in the late eighties. Working closely with such luminaries as Derrick Carter, Kevin Saunderson and Chris Nazuka, Mark utilized his tight connections and signed to KMS Records in '89 under the Symbols & Instruments moniker and produced a landmark track called 'Mood' - the first ambient house track ever made. From there he went on to pioneer the Mushroom Jazz genre in San Francisco, championing a more mellow style of jazzy house and early hip-hop that soon became an international sensation.

In 2003, with 4 Mushroom Jazz and 4 Chicago house DJ mixed compilations along with numerous singles already under his belt, Mark released his debut artist album 'Air Farina' to widespread critical acclaim. Mark's remix skills are also highly in demand from top labels such as Verve and Classic. Farina has now sold well over 100,000 albums worldwide.

For the 'Sessions' series Mark decided to show his full range of jackin' beats and the result is a master class in mixing, seamlessly taking the mix up and down, combining deep vocals with rolling drum rhythms and upfront electronics, but maintaining a classic house backbone.

Mark will be doing a full world-tour to promote this release, which sees him stopping off in Europe, Australia, Asia and of course America.
