** The 5 year wait is over! Meat Katie is set to drop his new album**

Whether it's at his well-known residency at London's Fabric, or through his numerous genre-busting 12" releases, or even his much-loved Bedrock Breaks and Destination Australia 002 compilations, UK born and bred Meat Katie (aka Mark Pember) has never been one to follow the rules. And now with the release of his third full-length LP 'Vibrator', Pember is set to take his unique slant on dance music to a whole new level.

In a career spanning 10 years, there's very little Meat Katie hasn't involved himself in. From immersing himself in hip hop and b-boy culture as a youngster, he went on to play bass guitar for Sandladder, an outfit that not only toured with the likes of Manic Street Preachers, but was also signed to Iggy Pop's Kill City imprint. Having spent much of his days with the band touring, MK's exposure to the burgeoning acid house culture was inevitable. When a fellow band member purchased a sampler, the real experimentation began!

Pember's whole musical focus quickly began to revolve around using his massive collection of funk and a variety of drum samplers to produce breaks and big beat. As one third of dance collective Ceasefire, he was signed to Wall of Sound, but eventually stepped out on his own under the guise Meat Katie. Soon after, he found a new home at Kingsize Records, and went on to release an impressive fifteen 12" singles on the label, as well as two critically acclaimed albums 'Off the Bone' (1998) and 'Long to Belong' (2001).

In 2000 he set up the Whole 9 Yards label with a group of industry mates, which went on to release music from the likes of Dylan Rhymes, Elite Force and Dark Globe, as well as a number of Meat Katie collaborations and solo works. After W9Y had run its course, Pember started another label, this time on his own, calling it Lot49. These days MK splits his time between developing Lot49, releasing music on Adrift Records, and a hefty touring schedule that sees him visit all corners of the globe.

Pember's long history of collaborating with the biggest names in the breaks biz, including the likes of Rennie Pilgrem, Lee Coombs, BLIM, Elite Force, Justin Drake (Peace Division), Holly Golightly and Dylan Rhymes, as well as remixing the likes of Deep Dish, U.N.K.L.E, Stephane K and Phil Kieran, among many others is set to continue with his new album 'Vibrator'.

Collaborating with Australia's own Jono Fernandez, Meat Katie dishes up the attitude-packed 'Force', a trademark tech-funk killa guaranteed to make the dancefloor moan on impact. 'Feathers' sees MK rope in the talents of Aquasky for a soaring melody soaked breakbeat workout, whilst the soul-infused funk of 'Round and Round' sparkles with Katherine Ellis on vocals. 'NuTron' and 'Divine', both collaborations with Elite Force, have been ripping up dancefloors locally and overseas, both getting Top 3 DMC Buzz chart action, coolcuts placements and extensive Radio 1 play from the likes of Pete Tong, Fergie, Annie Nightinggale and Tayo. Pember's 'Turn Me Out' (with Christian J) also looks destined to be a classic, borrowing a catchy vocal hook from legendary soul singer Kathy Brown.

More than a DJ/producer, Meat Katie has proven himself to be one of the scene's leading lights when it comes to delivering top-notch, genre-defying dance music. A leader, rather than an imitator, 'Vibrator' sees him deliver what will certainly be one of the defining albums of 2006.
