It's true; we've all been waiting patiently for the two sides of that shiny Ninja Tune coin to represent, and now finally - together at last! - the dark and the light, the moody atmospherics alongside the whimsical glee - Kid Koala and Amon Tobin- return together to Australia. So far there has only been one event scheduled and Melbourne is the lucky city to play host on December 8th at The Prince of Wales

Touring on the back of his third full-length studio album 'Your Mom's Favourite DJ', Kid Koala has been the North American jewel in the Ninja Tune's crown ever since label co-owner Jon More (of Coldcut fame) plucked the young turntablist from obscurity in 1995. Since then, the Kid's talent in fusing intricate sonic layers, with a fun, upbeat and witty musical narrative have seen him support everyone from the Beastie Boys to Radiohead, as well as tour extensively as a member of Deltron 303, Lovage and Bullfrog.

Amon Tobin's musical pedigree is no less impressive, having joined the Ninja Tune clan when the powers-that-be caught whiff of the Brazilian ex-pat's fine skill of stirring up everything from jazz, hip hop, drum 'n' bas and samba into stunning low-end electronic soundscapes. Responsible for the evocative LP's 'Bricolage', 'Permutation', Supermodified, Tobin's skill lies in extracting order from musical chaos, with his live sets masterfully inspiring a potent mixture of suspense and excitement from the dancefloor.

Both genuine innovators in their field, Koala and Tobin are two of the few sonic manipulators to wield the wheels of steel with genuine artistic grace & ambition. Together they'll demonstrate not just dazzling wrist-actions, a sly sense of hip hop humour, and a comical mess of musical detritus, but also maintain the belief that the turntable, as a musical instrument, can be used well outside of its perceived comfort zone. And amongst the madness of it all, still managing to pull charisma from the crate time after time…

Party of the year- Damn Straight!
