The Modular Monthly returns to Melbourne and Sydney in March with Zurich’s purveyor of all things directional Headman. The Relish Records boss has tinkered with tunes from Franz Ferdinand, Annie and Cut Copy, whilst maintaining a steady flow of punk funk projects under his Manhead guise. In short, he’s a watertight party starter. On Friday 24, DJ Belgium, Aram Chapers, Andee Frost, Jason Evans, Modular DJs and Dirty Talk DJs join Headman at Honkytonks for round one. The guest will back up at The Basement the very next night, flanked by Mercy Arms (live), Van She DJs, Gus Da Hoodrat, DJ Damage, Teenagers In Tokyo and Modular DJs. In Melbourne, tickets are available from Central Station and in Sydney from Moshtix and thebasement.com.au.

In other Modular business, any 3D readers with a ticket booked for Austin, Texas, are in luck. This Wednesday, The Presets join Annie, Jose Gonzalez, Pink Nasty and Simian Mobile Disco at Eternal. Yep, world domination is oh so fine. Meanwhile, shaggy and shaggable labelmates Wolfmother have been selling out shows in the US and schmoozing with Kim and Julian in the UK and Europe. Closer to home, Van She are doing the live thing and more or less blowing up. Finger the pulse at modularpeople.com.
