Frankie Knuckles returns to the spotlight with his new album entitled 'DubJ's D'Light (a remixed reality)'.

This long-awaited mixed album has been released worldwide and is now available for download on www.Beatport.com and at Knuckles' shows during his 2006 tour. The full-length CD will be available in September throughout Europe.

Knuckles' new label NOICE!music launched in May 2006 with the release of two singles: "The Whistle Song Revisited", a fresh reproduction reworked in late 2005 of the House classic produced by Knuckles and Eric Kupper in 1991; and "Gimme Gimme (Disco Shimmy)", a piano-driven floor shaker featuring Nicki Richards, a vocalist introduced on Knuckles' 'Motivation' album whose voice accentuates several dubs. The limited double-A side Vinyl 12" is available via Downtown 161 globally.

Album Details
Re-imagining the music from various past great works, Knuckles contacted remixers he respected to create new interpretations for the Dub album. Blaze, The Shapeshifters, Quentin Harris, The Groove Junkies, The Cleptomaniacs and Eric Kupper all accepted and the album took shape.

Knuckles mixed the album to create a dub journey which opens with Blaze's smoothed-out "Overture" and highlights the nostalgic reworking of "The Whistle Song Revisited", the African-influenced "Afro Shimmy (Gimme Gimme)", and longtime friend Jamie Principle's "Because of Your Love" remixed by the Groove Junkies. Principle's return on this album is a pre-cursor to an album collaboration currently in production.

Knuckles' "DubJ's D'Light" is a disc created with Dub-style disc jockeys in mind. "Actually, I coined the phrase 'DubJ' years ago to denote DJs who base the programming of their sets around playing dubs," Knuckles says. "D'Light was inspired by Imagination's 1983 release 'Night Dubbing' which was a remixed version of their 1982 album 'In the Heat of the Night'. Ultimately, this album was created with DJs in mind and to cater to them and the consumer that loves minimal vocals," said Knuckles.

Frankie Knuckles is currently on his Def Mix 2006 world tour in the United States and Europe to promote his new album and label NOICE!music, and will continue around the globe until the end of the year. His schedule can be seen on his website www.defmix.com
