Baile Funk comes to Sydney

It just might be the freshest sound in the world, with producers like Diplo and M.I.A sampling its flavours, but Baile Funk (pronounced BYE-lee) is yet to have a home in Sydney. That is until now. From Thursday 27 April, Brasilian DJ Jeff Santos will be taking over Melt Bar to push the sounds of his home country on a monthly basis. ‘S A CODE (a play on the Brasilian word meaning to shake or dance) will feature all the sounds of Brasil, focusing on Baile Funk but also taking in samba, samba rock, bossa nova, forró, axé and tropicália.
