If you cultivate even a passing interest in house, it’s likely you’ve been wooed - perhaps unknowingly - by a 20:20 Vision release. The quality-assured label even has its own band. Headed by Ralph Lawson on beats, loops and fx, the 20:20 Soundsystem also features Silver City on bass and keys and drums by Danny ‘Dubble D’ Ward. An anomaly in DJ-dominated clubland, the outfit has translated its lauded live clout to debut album No Order. It’s a double-CD released on 24 April through 20:20 Vision/Stomp, the first disc being the studio LP and the second a recording of 20:20 Soundsystem’s set from Barcelona’s Sonar Festival. If you didn’t know it already, Ralph and co. are taking to the stage at Digital, Melbourne, on Friday 14 April, and 360, Sydney, on Saturday 15. The Digital denizen also gets the frontman doing a DJ spot.
