Judge Jules chatted to Skrufff this week about the increasing selection of breaks DJs booked to play at his Ibiza weekly club Judgement Sunday this season and stressed the genre fits perfectly with the harder, faster dance music he remains best known for.

"Most breaks sets I've heard from all the key players have been over 130bpm so the breaks thing fits in perfectly," said Jules. "We're using lots of breaks DJs in the back room such as The Plumps, Stantons, and Krafty Kuts and this will be the fourth year we've used them. We were the first Ibiza club to embrace their sound, which was well received from day one. It's a great foil to the banging stuff in the main room," he continued.

Though the press release describes Lisa Lashes' upcoming sets as being "alternative electro/breaks sets' Jules dismissed suggestions his club might embrace electro-disco, declaring "I don't understand 'electro disco'-I think it's another journalistic invention.'

"Of course there's plenty of electro influence in many current dance tracks, but from where I see things, trying to carve out yet another dance genre doesn't serve any purpose," he added.

He also predicted Ibiza's season will be as lively as ever, despite continuing stories that authorities are to introduce ever stricter regulation of clubs and clubbers.

"Although the Brandon Block documentary put egg on certain faces, I can't see things changing dramatically," he predicted, "Clubbing and clubbers contribute hugely to the island's economy."

Judgement Sundays runs from 12th June to 18th September at Eden, San Antonio.
