Chicken Lips: Clicks, Acid 'n' Disco

After a break of over a year TrusttheDJ returns to form with CLICKS, ACID 'N' DISCO, a heady selection of music plucked from the heaving shelving units of Chicken Lips.

Andy Meecham, Dean Meredith and Steve 'Fela' Kotey have been producing some inspired New York disco-fuelled electro-house over the last five years and are equally well known for their remixes and edits for the likes of Josh Wink, Underworld, Mo' Wax, Playgroup, Stereo MC's and Utah Saints.

Clicks, Acid 'N' Disco confirms Chicken Lips as masters of their game and showcases some of the Lips' favourite producers and remixers.

Maurice Fulton kicks things off with his re-jig of I:Cube's Vacuum Jackets a bass-heavy cut which bleeds into Carl Craig's remix of the classic Moscow Discow by Kraftwerkian Belgian granddaddies Telex.

Luciano's refined remix of Tim Wright's Thirst takes us out of the twisted disco of Lopazz' I Need Ya (Brennan Green mix) retaining the electric edginess while Blanc Tape is the Lips' own take on pure 80's electro.

This is a collection of the funk-fuelled disco dub sound that the Lips have been carefully crafting for themselves in their own releases and remix duties. Inspired by disco and electro, and driven by techno and house, the mix delves deep into the minds of Chicken Lips and brings to the surface their characteristic fresh sound. It's tweaky, it's squelchy, it's techy, with some, big, big tunes from the past 12 months...
