2020 Vision presents debut album from the Leeds based Argentines Silver City Their story takes them from Buenos Aries to Leeds via Ibiza, Paris and London and their influences take them from Rock to Funk via House, Pop and Disco. Except for some drums from Dubble D, all instruments were played by, and all vocals performed by the multi-talented Julian and Fernando, aka 2020 Sound System, aka Silver City.
The Silver City sound on their debut album is unique, but can loosely be pieced together from their influences that range from Funkadelic to Happy Mondays, from Daft Punk to The B52's, and a multitude of influences in-between.·
Tracks like Down Til Seven, In My Mind, What You Get, Funkshion and Say Hi cement the lad's reputation as purveyors of the finest, freshest, live, modern house and disco sounds. La Seine and Disco Roads showcase their more laidback approach to songwriting and groove along at a sedated disco speed with depths and layers that demand repeated listens. Dance Til The Morning and Another Dimension are classic pieces of, for want of a better phrase, electro pop . Finally Shiver is a real highlight of the album and is a classic piece of mostly, instrumental rock with a killer groove, sounding uncannily like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Equally at home sitting alongside albums from The Bravery, Tom Vek, Daft Punk, Royksopp, LCD Sound Sytem, Soul Mekanik and Soulwax or in sets from the likes of James Murphy, Erol Alkan, The Glimmers or Harvey. Their fan-base has steadily grown to include an enviable and highly varied array of DJs - James Zabelia , Laurent Garnier & James Murphy amongst their number.
