Westbam's Car Crash Injuries More Serious Than Expected

Acid house/ techno pioneer Westbam is likely to be out of action for at least two more months after breaking his heel in a car crash in Japan.

"What seemed like an uncomplicated fracture, after proper medical evaluation in the hospital, unfortunately turned out to be a more serious injury that will require several operations," a Wesbam source said this week.

"It was expected to take 3 weeks to recover but at www.westbam.de they say it will be 6 weeks."

Czech Republic promoter Ales Beha, a close friend of the German DJ, confirmed the much worse diagnosis, telling Skrufff this week 'he is still in hospital after undergoing two operations and as it looks, he'll be staying there at least until the end of August, maybe later."

"And after that he needs one, maybe two months of convalescence so he's already cancelled all dates until the end of Octobe," said Ales.

Westbam had been due appear at Ales' Summer Of Love festival in Prague in two weeks time though is planning to make a special video greeting to the crowd, presumably from his sick bed, he added.
