New York house legend Victor Calderone blamed 'pressure from local authorities' for the cancellation of his successful new residency at Manhattan superclub Crobar, in a message he posted on his website victorcalderone.com.

However, the hugely popular DJ/ producer was sanguine about losing the gig, quoting German philosopher Rainer Maria Rilke in his statement.

"Rilke resonates with me because I've always followed the philosophy of accepting things as they are thrown at you," Victor told Skrufff, when asked about his interest in the 19th Century poet.

"There is a reason for everything and if something you may think is 'right' turns out to be wrong then you just have to wait for the true 'right' thing to present itself. Patience and acceptance are key."

Victor DJs at Danny Tenaglia's Be Yourself party in Miami this weekend (Sunday March 7, at MV nightclub, downtown Miami), spinning from 3.30 to 7am (when he's followed by Tenaglia). He also spins at Crobar's Miami venue on Sunday March14.
