US Punk-Funksters !!! Step Up A Gear

!!!, the US seven piece band behind last year's punk-funk anthem 'Me and Giuliani Down By The Schoolyard', have unveiled details of their much anticipated second album Louden Up Now, which comes out on Warp in June. The band have also just started a worldwide tour of music festivals, including California's massive Coachella Festival last weekend, in stark contrast to the gigs they landed when they started out seven years ago.

During our very first tour we'd sometimes literally play to crowds of five or six people in tiny basements in some small town, some place in America," principal guitarist Mario Andreoni told Skrufff last year.

"Then suddenly, people started to get it, we began playing bigger shows then other bands started inviting us to play alongside them and now it feels like we're riding a tidal wave."

"We want to see how far we can go with it, though I don't think that we'll ever be huge. We never seem to write any songs that are less than five minutes, for example; the focus is more about striving to do something original."

Louden Up Now is out on Warp Records on June 7; the band play London's 93 Feet East, on Thursday May 27.
