Independent dance music portal Track It Down kicked off promotion for their digital download site this week, with an irreverent tag of 'Fuck I-Tunes, Let's Dance'. The UK based operation is launching with a catalogue of house, trance, techno, drum & bass and breaks tracks from over 150 labels with support from underground figureheads including Chris Liberator, Tayo and Nick Sentience.

'We are helping labels and artists reach their audience direct and this audience get hold of the latest and greatest music without having to steal it and without breaking the bank by any stretch of the imagination," Track It Down co-owner Ed Real told Skrufff this week.

"If you wanna' rip off Timberlake then fine, but dance producers and labels operate on a different level, so ripping them off means that they can't afford to make our favourite tunes anymore and we all lose out," he added.

The site (which launched on July 1st) also features 60 minute downloadable compilations from Paul Glazby, Darren Tate (aka Jurgen Vries), Mark Wilkinson, Trouble On Vinyl, Dragonfly, and DJ Ink. Ed also urged interested labels and industry people interested in finding out more, to email him at ed@trackitdown.net.
