New Jersey garage legend Tony Humphries plays a 7 hour set at Ministry of Sound's London headquarters this weekend, returning to the venue where he first held a residency in 1993.

The US jock made his name in the 80s as resident DJ at New Jersey's Paradise Garage equivalent Paradise Garage then became synonymous with garage in the early 90s, when he remixed Ministry's first ever mix compilation.

Chatting to Skrufff recently, he revealed he's proud to be associated with the term, which was coined from the music pioneered by Larry Levan at Paradise Garage.

"I've carried the mantle and torch for the music and kept it going," he said.

"But everything goes in cycles, that cliche is true. When people run out of ideas, you always go back to the well, or the library and there's a certain amount of talent or good music that was inside disco. You just need to go back and check it out. Most dance music originates from soul so whether you want to go back to hip hop or disco whatever, the common denominator is soul."
