Thailand Castration Craze Reaches

So many Thai women have started cutting off their unfaithful husband's penises that doctors issued guidelines in July urging vulnerable men to establish contingency plans in case it happens to them.

"If you have a mistress they (wives) will get mad and cut it any time, so make her very happy, always carry a thermos to put it (the severed penis) in and keep the name of a good doctor close by," re-attachment specialist surgeon Dr Surasak Muangsombot advised (Taipei Times).

The trend differed markedly from the situation in Africa where several men recently chopped off their own penises to punish their women. Last October a 38 year old Kenyan man chopped off both his testicles and penis 'to teach his wife a lesson' (Western Daily Press) while at Christmas 26 year old Kenkan Stephen Ongala severed one testicle 'after a disagreement with his wife' (Reuters).

American Oscar Hernandez also cut off his own penis earlier this year (with a machete) and left it lying on top of a bag of cement at the roadside in January. Cops later returned it to him at the local hospital in Alton, Illinois.
