London electro-disco types Tasty Tim and Mark Moore will be DJing at Croatia's Queer Zagreb Festival next weekend, when London club the Cock hosts three night-time parties in the Croatian capital.

Joining them in will be fellow Cock residents Princess Julia and DJ Rokk for what's becoming an increasingly high profile annual event in Croatia.

"The Queer Zagreb festival is trying to challenge hetero-normacy (straight conservative culture) through art, theory and activism. Due to many circumstances queer people in Croatia are barely visible and the festival is trying to change the perception of that invisibility," event organiser Zvonko told Skrufff.

"The festival is slowly creating a safe zone inside the city."

Fellow festival promoter and DJ Sergej Lugovic explained Queer Zabreb is also about more than just gay rights.

"In my view queer means everything that isn't accepted by the wider public, which varies from place to place, but makes the concept of queer so interesting," he said.

"For example in Zagreb, a man who wears a fur coat would be considered queer, though not necessarily in London. All the events I'm involved in producing are always created for open-minded people; money, clothes and other status symbols don't matter at all."

Which should fit seamlessly with London's Tasty Tim who told Skrufff this week he'll be making no special arrangements for the upcoming gig.

"There'll be no extra crowd pleasing measures from me- no really- the only way I prepare differently is to wear more makeup," said Tim.

The original 80s gender bender DJ also denied he's planning to let his (ultra-flamboyant) hair down in Croatia, pointing out, 'you know I glue it on. . .I just pray for it to stay put."
