Jori Hulkkonen releases a new EP on Laurent Garnier's label F Com shortly called 'A Letter From Cardassia' which he's named after a distant civilisation in Star Trek. While A Side Fermi Paradox is a tech-house club tune aimed firmly at the dance floor, B side 7 Nites/ 7 Days is a much more accessible bootleg style affair that could easily provide the Finnish electro-tech producer with his biggest hit since Sunglasses At Night.

Chatting to Skrufff last year, Jori stressed that as well as always striving to create electronic songs that stand out, he's equally particular about what he calls his productions.

"I'm not really religious, but I feel very spiritual and music is an outlet on which I concentrate 100%, so if I'm happy with the end result, then giving titles to my songs and albums becomes a big part of the whole process," he explained,

"Titles evoke a reaction, an atmosphere and create a connection with the music, as does the artwork which is also very important to me. They both work in synchronicity in taking you to the next level. To me, music has always been much more than just sounds coming from a speaker," he said.

Fermi Paradox, 7 Nites/ 7 Days is out on August 2 on F Com.
