Shock Records and Vicious Pty Ltd today announced a groundbreaking partnership.

An alliance will be forged which will see both companies working more closely together than a traditional P&D model. As well as sales & distribution, Shock will be working along side Vicious developing various projects including on-line concepts, strategic compilations and unique marketing initiatives.

Vicious Co-MD, John Course comments "This is a fantastic move for Vicious, as we are forming an alliance with the undisputed leader of independent music in Australia. Shock has shown over the years that they not only have the ability to take real artists to the top of the charts but also the sensitivity and support to nurture developing talent. This suits the culture and the vision of our company."

Shock CEO, Charles Caldas says "In a world market which is seeing fantastic opportunities emerging in the independent sector, I am particularly pleased that we have been able to forge an alliance with such a great Australian independent label. Vicious have proved time and time again that they lead the way in dance and urban music in this country and I firmly believe that their creative vision matched with our proven track record as a distribution network will see great things being achieved in the future."

Shock Director of A&R, Nick Dunshea adds "Vicious have always shown a total understanding of what it takes to make Australian artists work both in Australia and around the word, they continue to break new ground with music, clothing, DJing..... We are so excited to be involved with Vicious and look forward to releasing the NuBreed album and the Damon Boyd single in the coming weeks."

Founded by Andy Van, John Course and Colin Daniels in 1992, Vicious is steadily growing into one of Australia's more successful creative companies. The Vicious Group includes the highly credible Vicious Threads clothing range, publishing and management divisions and the music label with artists such as Madison Avenue, Rogue Traders, J Wess and NuBreed.

Shock is Australia's leading independent music and entertainment distribution and licensing company. Representing key international labels such as Epitaph, XL Recordings, Hed Kandi and Koch as well as Australia's Redline Records, Rubber Records and Infidelity Recordings, Shock continues to grow in a market which is under substantial global pressure.

The first release Shock and Vicious will work together is the muchly anticipated debut album from Melbourne Breaks act NuBreed. The album, titled "The Original" has received high praise from the UK media and will be released in Australia April 26.
