A new survey of British holiday-makers has revealed that one in three Brits hate holidaying alongside other Brits.

"Not only do the long-suffering locals who endure our pink flesh and hateful personal habits detest us, but we loathe ourselves in equal measure," The Daily Telegraph declared in an editorial about the Mintel survey.

"(Though) In truth, we don't dislike our countrymen, but on holiday, we want to look down on them," they claimed.

One group Telegraph-reading Brits could well be looking down on this season is teenage clubbers, certainly judging by the dress codes a British Council report on 'youth tribes' identified for them this week.

Girl clubbers, the Council said, nowadays dress in turquoise and white, while boy clubbers can be identified by their 'Ben Sherman shirts, black shoes and hair gel". And Ibiza is the top spot to avoid to escape British holidaymakers, the Telegraph added.
