Organisers of last year's first ever techno parade in Brazil have confirmed they'll be staging another free street party this May, with international DJs including Berlin Love Parade inventor Dr Motte DJing at the event and local heroes Anderson Noise, Marky and Pacife also set to star.

The Love Parade style party kicks off at Copacabana Beach on Sunday afternoon May 30 and will have another explicitly techno angled theme, organisers announced on their website this week.

"We have noticed that techno music has gained popularity in Rio in the last few years. Clubs have opened in all kinds of areas, from posh dance temples to casual suburban parties," they said.

"Electronic tones fascinate not only the rich but also the poor and connect all different social classes of the city."
