Radio 1's annual 60 hour Balearic broadcast coincides with Manumission's Tenth Birthday celebrations next weekend, suggesting Ibiza is certain to be packed with British revellers and superstar DJs throughout the 4 day weekend.

Radio 1's event is heavily centred around Cafe Mambo (on San Antonio's Sunset Strip) while Judge Jules hosts a new showcase 'secret party' on Saturday night with guest DJs including Lottie, Anne Savage and David Morales. 500 free tickets are being made available via an online competition (see below) with Jules expecting lots of interest.

"We've had our busiest year at Judgement Sunday since 2001 so far, and all the big nights are reporting very good numbers, although some second-string nights haven't performed very well," Jules told Skrufff this week, going on to stress that the secret party is not taking place at his home in the San Antonio hills.

Manumission's 10th birthday party meanwhile takes place at their usual venue of Privilege this Friday (August 6) with an eclectic line-up headlined by 2 Many DJs and Ivan (Black Strobe) Smagghe and promoter Andy told Skrufff he's similarly enthused.

"To be up so far this year is a fantastic feeling because the island certainly is a little quieter than it has been in recent years," he said.

"I think Ibiza's at a crossroads as is the culture. It's potentially painful but entirely necessary, because the island's been operating at 110% capacity for the last few years," he suggested. "Certain things need rechecking and adjusting."

One person unlikely to be joining him at Privilege is teenage opera signer Charlotte Church, who partied in San Antonio two weeks ago at clubs including Eden though is currently back in the UK.

"Her management company has banned Charlotte from going to the Manumission club because of its association with live sex shows, which might damage her image," said the Sun.
