The highly anticipated electronic music and DJ culture documentary, PUT THE NEEDLE ON THE RECORD, recently wrapped production less than one year after commencing.

The initial film from Rem Entertainment and produced in association with Woo Productions, will have its premiere screening during Miami's 2004 Winter Music Conference, thus marking a return to the location that served as the documentary's primary backdrop.

Filming and interviews took place for a day each in the club hotbed cities of Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles and primarily during the weeklong 2003 Winter Music Conference in South Beach. Throughout the five days of Miami filming, a twenty person, four-camera crew captured forty-five interviews and covered the action at over thirty parties and events.

Producer Joni Day coordinated interviews with Grammy award winning remixers, superstar DJs, record label executives, promoters, and rising talent. Among those featured in the film are renowned DJs and producers; Charles Feelgood, Christopher Lawrence, D:Fuse, Dave Ralph, David Coleman & Sen-Sei, Deep Dish, Dieselboy, Dirty Vegas, DJ Colette, Donald Glaude, Francois K, Jason Bentley, Jesse Saunders, Josh Wink, Junior Sanchez, Liquid Todd, Mark Farina, Mark Lewis, Marques Wyatt, Mea, Nigel Richards, Peter Rauhofer and Roger Sanchez. Those and other stories come together to present a fascinating narrative about a global message of music which transcends language, race and culture.

Fifteen-hour a day coverage of the thirty parties filmed was coordinated by Producer Shahin Amirpour and gives audiences an inside look at the diversity of venues, from the 3000 person mega-clubs to the subdued daytime poolside events, that bring people together. In addition to the filming that took place in Miami, the film also includes venues from England, Russia, Ibiza, Germany, Prague, Thailand and settings throughout the United States.
