First of all, we'd like to extend a huge thankyou to those that came and rocked it with us when Anthony Pappa came to play a few weeks back. What an amazing night! This month (August 21st to be precise) we're back home at Two Floors Up with another huge lineup full of quality progressive sounds to tempt you outside this winter.

The last twelve months have seen many new talented DJs and producers begin to make their mark in the world of electronic music. Well not just new producers, but new record labels pushing new sounds and of course boundaries as well. One of those labels is Blueprint, run by Atlanta producers Habersham and Numinous, which caught the eye of a few of the PF DJs back last year with their debut release "Rhetorical Question". It was easy to see why, as their deep, percussive, tribalesque, pseudo breaks, are in some ways how many people describe the "Melbourne sound" pushed by the likes of Phil K. Well funny we should mention Phil, as during last year's Miami Winter Music Conference, he hooked up with Habersham, and Miami local Dave Preston to write what a tune that was to blow up rather largely. As 'The Operators' they put together 'Furball', which has been licenced to at least 4 recent compilations (including Keltec's mix on the new 'Future Breaks' CD, and also Way Out West's forthcoming mix compilation) and who knows how many more.

Habersham has come into his own right as well, catching the eye (or should we say ear) of Dave Seaman who not only used Habersham's 'Transparent Sound' as the opening track on his recent Audio Therapy compilation, but also licenced it (along with 'Follow The White Rabbit') to his own Audio Therapy label for release.
Needless to say, if you haven't worked it out already, he's been causing quite a stir with DJ's and on the dancefloor alike. Stylistically, his Djing and production tastes cross the boundaries of house, breaks and progressive, and fans have come to expect the unique, original Habersham sound: from quirky and funky, to deep and minimal; from dark and dirty to twisted and mindf#$cked.

With a show on Proton Radio, along with a remix schedule that is filling up rather quickly, it's lucky that Habersham finds the time to do much else than music, let alone travel all the way from Atlanta to Melbourne to playat PF on August 21st.
Lucky for us he has found the time, and just like Steve Porter he'll be making his debut Melbourne appearance at Private Function. As per usual you're all invited!

Habersham will be joined by the usual PF suspects, Gavin Martin, Aaron Roach, Dean Millson and Sasha Petrovic, along with another pair of local pranksters, Dark Beat's 'Rollin Connection'. And if that wasn't enough to get you excited, we'd also like to announce that Habersham will be playing an extended 3 Hour set. It really doesn't get much better than that - even if we do say so ourselves.

Tickets will be on the door for $20, however as usual we'd like to make it easy for you to get some discount action for this event, therefore if you head to http://privatefunction.tranzfusion.net (or use the form above!) and register for the guestlist you'll be able to get $15 tickets on the door. If you ve got a big list you can email it through to privatefunction@tranzfusion.net Simple eh- This will not guarantee you entry, and there will be a limit of 250 people allowed in the venue at any one time to keep things comfortable, so we'd also like to advise that you get there early so that you're guaranteed to witness what is surely going to be another highlight of 2004.

That's it from us for the time being, just make sure you get you and your friends on that guestlist, we don't want you paying full price now do we!
See you on the dancefloor
