Pete Tong Launches 6 Minute Mobile Phone Show

Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong has become the first DJ to create a music show specifically for mobile phones, offering listeners 3 two minute segments of music clips, news and surprisingly, fashion, for £0.50 per segment.

The superstar DJ also revealed he's started making his own tunes for both dancefloors and Hollywood movie soundtracks, telling Dave Pearce 'I don't want to be stuck with all the business side of things (Daily Star).

Chatting to Skrufff last year, Tong hinted at his new direction, pointing out 'the music business is collapsing pretty rapidly and yet if I go to a club or bar, check out who's listening to the radio show or talk to anybody, everyone is still going out.

"Someone gave me a phenomenal analogy recently; every record executive should have a bottle of Perrier on their desk to remind them that people will pay phenomenal amounts for something that everyone can get free. We just have to work out the system," he said.
