As part of his first ever Australian tour, Def Mix DJ Hector Romero will jet in from New York to play onelove - Melbourne's number one club night - on Saturday 11th December.

Hitting the decks as a 15-year-old in 1983 in the Bronx, Hector Romero started playing with a mix of latin, house and hip hop music. He soon found himself playing at the premier latin dance club La Mirage, and doing nights at the hippest street club, Devil's Nest, the very same club where friend Louie Vega got his start.

Moving on to some of New York City's legendary clubs and underground spots such as Save The Robots, The Red Zone, Palladium and The Roxy, in 1994 Judy Weinstein recruited Hector Romero to Def Mix Productions to work as Label Manager of Definity Records, an imprint Weinstein and partner David Morales were putting together. Natural progression within the Def Mix camp then saw Hector move on as a participating partner and Label Manager for Satoshi Tomiie's Saw Recordings.

The 'Undulation 1' release was Romero's first mix album, appearing alongside partner Satoshi Tomiie, and the Def Mix 2003/04 Undulation 1 World Tour saw him receiving great recognition around the globe from crowds and DJ's alike.

Aside from his label-running duties, Romero been playing records at spots such as his new Friday residency at New York's Sullivan Room, Stereo in Montreal, Pacha in Ibiza, Crowbar in Miami, as well as the best clubs in Greece, Russia, Italy, UK, Mexico and Japan.

Joining Hector Romero on Saturday 11th December at The Prince will be respected onelove residents Franky D and Grant Smillie with doors open from 9pm.
