Good Times disco ambassador Norman Jay MBE is continuing to use his Queen's medal in promo for his upcoming compilation CD Giant 45, apparently brushing aside the concerns of Benjamin Zephaniah, who accused holders of 'joining the oppressor's class late last year.

The new press release displays the MBE letters prominently in the heading (they stand for Member of the British Empire) reflecting Jay's continuing pride in the honour which he received 13 months ago.

"I fully accept that in these more politically correct and hopefully more 'enlightened' times one could argue that the term 'Empire' SHOULD be changed to something far more appropriate and suitable therefore making it acceptable to EVERYONE living, working and more importantly, PARTYING in modern day multicultural Britain today!" he wrote on his website in response to Zephaniah's stance.

Here's to the NEXT person (whoever that might be) who, whatever their race, culture, religion or politics goes on to deservedly ACCEPT 'official' recognition from the state for their honest endeavours....WHATEVER YOU WANT CALL IT!!!!!!!! ".

Giant 45, including tracks from Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Ultra Nate and Crazy Penis, is out in March, on React.
